Updating site services
11 Nov 2006
Despite any rumours on any sites, we're still alive. Most of our current focus is on getting the file server part of TNG up to speed (it's improving with every commit currently!). Also we had some outages of site services (mailing list archives are most notable, viewcvs is another one), we're mostly aware of the issues and are fixing them slowly, but steadily. If you really want to help, get in touch with Elrond. Today, we've updated a bunch of stuff on our main website.

Samba-TNG 0.4 Released
20 October 2003
We are proud to announce Samba-TNG 0.4. There is nothing earth-shattering or urgent in this release, just incremental improvements. If your existing Samba-TNG 0.3.2 domain works fine, there is little need to upgrade; on the other hand, we are always happy to see people testing and using our current code base. Source and selected binaries are available at download.samba-tng.org. See also the "what works, what doesn't" status page.

Mailing lists moved
18 August 2003
We are dropping the dcerpc.org domain in favor of samba-tng.org. Basically, we don't see a need for both. The most visible effect of this is that, for those of you filtering your mail via the procmail-friendly List-Id: header, that header now contains <listname.lists.samba-tng.org> rather than <listname.lists.dcerpc.org>. As we have already been advertising, the web interface is at http://lists.samba-tng.org/ and the email address for list traffic is <listname@samba-tng.org>.

Samba-TNG 0.3.2 Security Release
7 April 2003
Yet another vulnerability was discovered in the Samba codebase recently. Samba-TNG 0.3.2 fixes the hole, which is present in all prior versions of Samba-TNG. Once again, we strongly advise updating all Samba-TNG servers. For more information, see the announcement. (Thanks to Erik Parker and Digital Defense, Inc., and to Jerry Carter and the Samba Team.)
